Production Mgr/ Spv

This position reports directly to the General Manager and is responsible for the general and specific job duties of our Client.

- Act as a representative of our Client to all tier II suppliers developing long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships with all suppliers.
- Responsible for proper staffing levels for all Materials hourly and salary positions.
- Oversee material program managers, material coordinators, warehouse managers and shipping/receiving personnel, assigning work schedules and providing performance feedback.
- Maintain and achieve Materials KPI targets and report out to Management.
- Develop, maintain and monitor Materials Budget.
- Oversee, review and approve BOM management, working within the APQP process and aligning with all Financial audit requirements.
- Monitor and manage for minimal to no obsolescence for model year changeovers and program build outs.
- Responsible for Inventory Management System and meeting all inventory goals.
- Effectively manage the receipt of in-coming purchased items for prompt inventory recognition and control in predetermined multi-location storage.
- Integrate the incoming sequence broadcast releases from our customer down to the accurate scheduling of our Tier II suppliers.
- Continuously improve the accuracy of information and track the measurable improvement for reporting back to the management team.
- Develop supplier performance measurable indicators and track the supplier's performance against those measurables.
- Continuously examine the supply chain network in order to identify opportunities to reduce on hand inventory, decrease logistics costs, increase number of inventory turns, and improve the overall supply chain efficiency.
- Manage transportation logistics for incoming and outbound freight for all incoming and outgoing components. Monitor and work with 3PL. Meet target spend for programs and cost reduction goals.
- Control customs paperwork for imported and exported materials as required.
- Assist Quality Manager in developing incoming quality assurance systems and in the maintaining of such systems.
- Complete and maintain the Materials requirements for obtaining TS-16949 and MMOG certification and conforming to the requirements of on-going audits. Develop and approve all work instructions, processes and procedures to meet requirements.
- Assist in Supplier Packaging development for programs.
- Direct Service program management for all Customer Service Programs.
- Create efficient paperwork systems that minimize clerical functions and maximize requirements.

- A minimum of five years experience in an automotive environment is required.
- Demonstrated computer skills in EDI, MS Windows, Internet and Lotus Notes (or a comparable email system).
- Experience with a fully integrated manufacturing software package a must (TRANS4M-Infor/Agilisys/Brain a plus).
- Must maintain excellent communications skills working with customers, suppliers and the entire organizational team.
- Must be very detail oriented.
- Must be highly motivated and drive change and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of TS16949, MMOG and ISO requirements a must.
